"A Man"

"A Man", 1985
Ceramic and Wood
6.5 x 2.5 x 1.5 ft.

In 1985, this life-sized sculpture would come to life from wood and ceramic covered with abstract painting. This work was featured in "Figure/Form: Seven from the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh" exhibit at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. In addition to this exhibition, "A Man" was also shown at the Bowman Penelec Galleries at Allegheny College.

Below are notes and sketches of the work from Eberle's studio notes. Often, Ed would sketch out his ideas for the pieces before they came to life. As the pieces began to take form and get fired, he would mark the drawings with updates on the status of his creation.
